Cloth diapers are gone
After 6 weeks of successful and happy cloth diapering of our little baby, we had to stop. He was getting major diaper rashes all over his bottom and legs and we couldn’t figure out why. We went to disposables and after about a week, the problems cleared up. When we tried to go back to cloth, the rashes re-appeared quickly and took another couple days to go away. We are using the same soap for his diapers as we are for his clothes, so we don’t think it’s a soap allergy.
That means we have spent a lot on cloth diapers and a little washing machine and a little spin dryer, and we won’t really be using them much anymore. We might try again when he’s 6-9 months since their skin is sometimes less sensitive by then, but for the moment, we are 100% disposable which makes me sad mostly from an environmental perspective, but also from a financial one.

Found this site from thesimpledollar.com. Hope you can keep up with it and your little one at the same time.
I wanted to let you know that Balmex makes a protective lotion that might help your little one stay safe from diaper rashes. However, I know cloth diapering can be very time-consuming, no one would fault you for using disposables.
I also wanted to share with you an idea for saving yourself the trouble of fighting stains when you first start feeding your little one those pureed carrots, sweet potatoes and peas. Since they stain so much, why not dye some old onesies and plain white t-shirts with a couple jars of baby food? I wish I had!
